February 20, 2004 So
someone posted something on a message board the other day about spilling
things on your keyboard. I have never done that myself.
( BANGING on wood right now seeing as how
the only computer I have right now is my laptop and it's not so easy
to just replace a keyboard on it!)
I did add my stories of cameras being doused
in beer and other sticky drinks too many times to remember. I used to
be able to take my old manual focus Minoltas apart and clean them when
needed. THEN I switched to auto focus cameras and I started relying
on my insurance to replace them.
Well I dropped the insurance after I quit shooting skateboarding so
that wasn't available recently when one of my cameras started screwing
up. I knew it was something minor in the main control dial so I thought
I'd try to fix it myself:) Well...they make it kinda hard to get to
that particular piece...actually they make it hard to get to everything.
By the time I got underneath the dial to see what turned out to be a
very minor problem I knew there was no way I was ever going to get the
thing back together so I did what any man would...I took it completely
apart to see what the insides looked like:)
And now...I'm sharing with you, so you don't have to take your own camera
apart to see how it works.
